Affiliated Distributors (AD) recognized several companies at its annual Industrial Division North American Meeting Oct. 17-19 in Las Vegas.
The distributor marketing group also recognized retiring senior vice president Stu Mechlin for his years of service to the organization.
The meeting also celebrated AD's 30th anniversary.
"This special event was held in Las Vegas to mark three decades of successfully driving accelerated growth with companies that are proven market leaders, as well as those who aspire to become market leaders," said Jack Templin, senior vice president of AD's Industrial Division.
During AD's annual "Spirit of Independence" Awards Banquet, Stellar Industrial Supply of Tacoma, Wash., received the Affiliate of the Year for Marketing Excellence Award; Milwaukee Electric Tool, Brookfield, Wis., received the Supplier of the Year for Marketing Excellence Award; W.P. & R.S. Mars, Bloomington, Minn., was named Best Annual Planning Process Award winner.
Best Conversion to an AD Supplier Awards were given to distributor James H. Cross, Erie, Pa., and supplier Precision Dormer, Crystal Lake, Ill., and distributor Nestor Sales, Largo, Fla., and Milwaukee Electric Tool.
Additional awards went to GOJO Industries, Akron, Ohio, for Excellence in Local Support; Shively Bros., Flint, Mich., earned the Affiliate of the Year for Performance Award, and Master Chemical, Perrysburg, Ohio, received the Supplier of the Year for Performance Award.
AD also recognized two affiliates and two suppliers for special Legacy of Leadership Awards. The Legacy of Leadership Award was created to honor those exceptional individuals and companies who, over the last 17 years, have distinguished themselves with their contributions to the growth and development of Affiliated Distributors. The Legacy of Leadership Affiliate awards were presented to Arkansas Mill Supply, Pine Bluff, Ark., and Industrial Supply Co. Inc. of Salt Lake City. The Legacy of Leadership Supplier awards were presented to Apex Tool Group, Sparks, Md., and SGS Tool Company, Munroe Falls, Ohio.
Additionally, AD CEO Bill Weisberg honored outgoing AD senior vice president, Stu Mechlin, for his outstanding contributions in leading the Industrial Supply Division. Mechlin was presented the MVP award, an honor never before bestowed on an AD associate.
