MSC makes executive appointments
MSC Industrial promoted Erik Gershwind to president from executive vice president.
He retains his role as chief operating officer. He will continue to lead the company's sales and operations functions. Gershwind will continue to report to David Sandler, MSC's chief executive officer.
The company also named Eileen McGuire executive vice president of human resources.
In her new role, McGuire, will continue to lead the company's human resources team, including associate training and development and community relations. In addition, she will now have responsibilities for the company's continual improvement program, which is focused on developing an increasingly efficient and productive organization. She will report to Gershwind.
