Actuant sales climb 27%
Actuant Corporation said its consolidated sales for the third quarter were $393 million, 27% higher than the comparable prior year quarter.
Core sales increased 14% with acquisitions contributing an additional 9% and the weaker U.S. dollar 4%. Earnings and EPS from continuing operations were $38.4 million and 51 cents, respectively, compared to $28.3 million and 39 cents in the comparable prior year quarter.
By segment, third quarter industrial segment sales were up 35% to $108 million; energy segment sales increased 38% to $78 million; electrical segment sales were $80 million, 30% higher than the comparable prior year quarter; and engineered solutions segment sales increased 13% from the prior year to $127 million.
Sales for the nine months of the fiscal year were $1.04 billion, 23% higher than the $850 million in the comparable prior year period.
