Fairmont Supply names new president
Fairmont Supply Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of CONSOL Energy Inc., named Van Compagni as president, effective June 1.
He succeeds Richard L. Layton, who will retire after 32 years with the company. Van Compagni was previously vice president of sales and marketing.
When Layton became president of Fairmont Supply Company in April 2003, the Canonsburg, Pa.-based distributor operated 11 warehouses in seven states.
Under Layton's direction, Fairmont implemented a diversified business strategy through external and internal expansions into key strategic markets, and today operates 34 locations in 14 states.
Compagni joined Fairmont in January 1980 in Price, Utah. He held a variety of management positions until he was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing in October 2006.
Fairmont Supply Company is a full-line distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and operating supplies.
